We needed ways to utilize the new bio-fuel’s that were just made available to us. We owned a 1996 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck. So, after a great deal of research, and financial thought, we decided we would keep our current vehicle, and find an economic way to adapt it to use Ethanol, the 85% ethanol, and 15% gasoline blend. We could operate our gasoline-designed vehicle on 50% ethanol, with no problem. However, we would need some sort of conversion to power our vehicle on the E85 blend. We knew the gang at MIT, or some good ol’ boy would come up with some kind of kit.
We believe it’s critical that alcohol blends are our futures fuel choice, and no new technology is needed. Alcohol fuel is part of our Solar Solution for energy. We can make alcohol fuel from waste products like stale donuts, grass clippings, food processing waste-even ocean kelp, using arid, marshy, or even marginal land, as well as our farmland. The American farming communities are the ones that can revolutionize the way the US produces our food, and fuel our vehicles. We can even make our bio-diesel out of alcohol fuel. We also know that there are many crops, which we already grow, that produce many more gallons than the 200 gals per acre that corn does. A crop like Sorghum gets up to 3,500 gals per acre, we could get 2,500 gals an acre growing Jerusalem artichokes, 500 gallons from Comfrey. They use corn because; we have so much of it. E85's main ingredient is ethanol, it’s non-toxic, water-soluble and biodegradable, and Ethanol is simply a healthier fuel for our world.
To wait for this government or the auto companies to come up with some kind of solution, it may just be too late! The new Hybrids aren’t even Flex-Fuel vehicles. The US is still importing the earth destroying oil. Even though we know we can reverse the damage done by gasoline, by the farming, processing, and burning of alcohol fuels.
